Privacy
This product asks you to write about a year of your life. That is about as personal as text gets, so this page describes exactly what happens to it — including the one moment it leaves your device.
1. Who runs this
The 2026 Review is made by AI Genie Studio. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@aigeniestudio.io.
2. There is no account
You do not sign up, sign in, or give an email address to use this. We do not know who you are, and we have no user records to look you up in.
3. What you write, and where it is kept
Your answers are saved in your own browser, on the device you are using, under these keys:
the2026review:draft:v1— your answers and progressthe2026review:profile:v2— the optional nickname, favourite work and background you may add before creating a reviewthe2026review:result:v2— a generated review and the snapshot of answers it was written frommemory-room:opened— whether you have opened your keepsake box in this browser session
Anyone who can use this browser profile can read them. Clearing your browser data removes them. They do not follow you to another browser or another device, and there is no cloud sync.
4. The one moment your writing leaves this device
Nothing is transmitted while you answer questions. Your writing leaves the device only when you choose to create or update a review. At that moment we send:
- the answers you have actually written, for the question path you selected — not the other paths, and not questions you skipped;
- the optional nickname, favourite work and background, if you filled them in.
Nothing else is sent, and nothing is sent automatically or in the background.
5. Who receives it
The review is written by a third-party AI provider. Your answers are sent to that provider so it can produce the report and year card, and its handling of that data is governed by its own terms rather than by this page. We may change provider as better options appear; if you want to know which one is in use right now, write to us and we will tell you.
We use a free tier, and you should know what that means. Free and unpaid AI services commonly allow the provider to use submitted content to improve their products and machine learning models, and to have it reviewed by people. That is the case for the tier we use now. We cannot promise your answers are never used that way.
Please do not write anything here you would not want handled under those terms — names of other people who have not agreed, medical details, financial account information, or anything else genuinely sensitive. The questions can be answered honestly without those specifics.
If this ever moves to a paid tier with stronger protections, or to a provider with different terms, this page will say so and will be dated accordingly.
6. What our own server keeps
The request passes through our server on its way to the AI provider. That server does not store your answers and does not write them to a log. It keeps no copy of your review. There is no database behind this product.
This also means we cannot recover anything for you. If you delete your draft or clear your browser, it is gone.
7. Downloads and sharing
Your year card, report, answer file and ZIP archive are assembled inside your browser and saved by you. Uploading or posting them is entirely your choice; nothing is published automatically. If you use your device's share sheet, you pick the app and the recipient, and the file goes wherever you send it — beyond that point this page no longer applies.
The link printed on the shared card points to our studio homepage. It does not link to your report, your answers, or any page about you.
8. No cookies, no analytics, no trackers
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising code. Fonts and libraries are served from this site rather than from a third party, so simply reading these pages does not tell anyone else that you were here.
The only outbound links are ordinary hyperlinks — Steph Ango's original questions, our studio homepage, and a Buy Me a Coffee page. Following one takes you to that site, under its own privacy policy.
9. Deleting what you wrote
Open Your answers, then More, then Delete draft from this browser. You will be asked to confirm, and you can download a backup first. Deleting removes your answers, your optional background details, the generated review and your progress from this browser.
It cannot remove files you already downloaded, copies you already shared, or anything retained by the AI provider under its terms.
10. How long things are kept
In your browser: until you delete them or clear your browser data. On our server: not at all. At the AI provider: for whatever period its own terms specify.
11. Children
This is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Because there are no accounts, we have no way to identify a user's age.
12. Your rights
Since your writing is stored on your own device and never in an account, you do not need our permission to see, export or erase it. The export and delete controls described above give you direct access. If you are in a region with statutory data rights and want to ask us something anyway, write to hello@aigeniestudio.io.
13. Changes to this page
If what we do changes — a different AI provider, a paid tier, anything stored on a server — this page changes with it, and the effective date at the top changes too. We will not quietly widen what happens to your writing.
